Just a few short blocks from my house is a great Sweedish Neighborhood - Andersonville! Anything Swedish that you can think of - they have! And every June they are one of the first "Street Festivals" that kick of the summer in Chicago.
I wish you had been here to go party with me, but I did make a video for you!
oh my god, what a good video.
ReplyDeletei was so caught up in the booze and boys, i didn't realize all the other fun things street that festivals are about.
i can't wait for your coverage of pride/market days.
Great home-sickness inducing video!
ReplyDeleteI've been craving good corn on the cob dipped in butter for a looooooong time. Now I'm really craving it.
What a coincident. On Sunday, I made some Swedish Salmon.
ReplyDeleteGay majorettes, what fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing about a Swedish Quarter, I can't shake the image of living in a village with 100's of Rose Nylund types :-)
I am so jealous of you guys, Cleveland doesn't have a quarter of what you have......
ReplyDeleteUnless abandoned buildings, empty markets and crap transportation are big in Chicago!?
Excellent video Michael!
Look like a fun street festival! Thanks for sharing the video! Wonder what kind of pastry they have in the Swedish bakery in the video...
ReplyDeletePete - Uh oh, I may have set the bar too high now!
ReplyDeleteTBF - I'm sorry : -( It was yummy though.
Gomad - I'm sure it was delicious.
Andy - yeah, my ex- is part of the troupe, they do a great job. LOL, if only it were that funny!
Andi - Well you need to start a festival in your front yard.
Ice John - they have all sorts of fattening foods in there, I've been in there once too many times!
I was wondering if your ex was part of the group. Now I know.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun time!
