i know that at one point in the movie she uses the dress on the sweatshirt as a napkin.

Michael, it is 16 candles and it is an adolescent, Chicago's very own Joan Cusack. Who could ever forget the hysterical scene of her getting a drink of water from a fountain with that ridiculous orthodontical contraption attached to her.

Michael - Of course TMS is absolutely right. Joan Cusack's character was officially called "Geek Girl #1".
Geek Girl No. 1 is an awesome outfit. One of Joan Cusack's best roles!!! That is super awesome!!!!
