Handy Kitchen Tips

Do you hate cutting up onions and garlic? Don't you hate the smell that lingers on your hands after you've done your thing?

Well next time, when you're washing your hands, take a stainless steel spoon and rub it all over hands...it will totally get rid of the onion and garlic smell.

Apparently there's some kind of reaction between the stainless steel and the acid in the onion....

It works!

I've just made a bolognese sauce for dinner so I will be trying that out shortly but you should ask Gomad about his stainless steel soap. He swears by it. I suppose it's all the same principle.

Ms Mac - It is the same prinicple...only I didn't pay $10 for a bar of stainless steel....I'm such a cheapskate!

Oh, I think Michael is giving hints as to what he wants for Christmas. Either a spoon or garlic/onions.

I *heart* people who give hints.... Makes my job so much easier!

We have a stainless steel sink. So, I've always just wiped my hands in that. However, we also have the $10 stainless steel "bar of soap"...somewhere. I haven't seen it for awhile.
