That's right, all day today it's a Square Root Day - something that only happens three times a century.
Three times in 100 years!
What's a Square Root Day? Well it's when the month and day can be multiplied to equal the year.
Today is March 3, 2009 which can be mathematically written as:
3 x 3 = 9
or
√9 = 3
or
3² = 3 x 3 = 9
The last Square Root Day was on February 2, 2004 (2 x 2 = 4) and the next one won't happen for 7 more years on April 4, 2016 (4 x 4 = 16) and then we're done for the century.
Don't miss it and make sure you tell all your friends that TODAY IS A SQUARE ROOT DAY, make your Math teacher proud.
