Recent Search Criteria

Do you have a counter on your blog? If you don't, you should really check one out, they're quite an amazing little toy.

Basically it keeps track of computers that have accessed your website, sort of like Caller ID for the web. But you can see where people came from (who referred them) to where they went, how long they stayed, etc.

One very cool feature is the ability to see what "search criteria" someone entered in a Search Engine and returned your website as being a big hit.

Here are some recent keywords people have searched on, and for some god forsaken reason, they ended up at my site.

Search Criteria: Jennifer Anniston in Vanity Fair

This has been a HUGE hit for me for about 6 weeks. I posted the article about two weeks before it hit the stands and suddenly I was getting LOTS of hits. Well come to find out, I was number 1 on Yahoo for a direct link, and do you wanna know why? It's because I spelled her freakin' name wrong! But I got 100's of hits from that!

All of the following just returned the user to the main page of my blog:
- How do I find out if the computer I bought is stolen
- How do we know the world is coming to an end
- How do you know you are gay for sure

I've gotten two requests for:
The No Eyebrow Lady in Greenville, SC

Some of the odder Requests:
Lost one of her shoes
Please don't park in my space
I want to be a porn actor
What to write in a card when someone gets something stolen

What's been brining people to your site lately?

Are we sending our loved ones cards now when their gear gets nicked? I'd need to know what to write in that one too!

People keep coming to me for Portia De Rossi! (???)

I have several hits for Ashton Kushton (apparently I'm not the only one who can't spell!). Also "natural blonde women with freckles" "pictures of beautiful girls" (bet they were pissed that the "girls" are 7 & 1! lol) "smart blondes" & "johnny depp hair comments"

And lets not forget the one person looking for "smart blondes" and found ME! lol

Do you pay for your counter? I don't and it never gives me any fun information on the web searches that brought people to my site! It also doesn't tell me what link people clicked on to arrive at my page.

I always feel like a bit of a guilty voyeur when I check my stats since I can figure out who many of my readers are and how often a particuloar person visits.
